2.VENUE

The various events of the Cluster will be organized at Vir Savarkar Sports Complex, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad (Approximate Distance 09.00 km), and the nearest railway station is Ahmedabad Junction/ Kalupur Railway Station (Approximate Distance 06.00 KM). Matches will be played throughout the day as per schedule and if required at night under flood lights as well.

  • Only serving police personnel on the rolls of the sponsoring unit are eligible. Trainees and retired personnel cannot take part.
  • Entries must be sent by the unit's sports officer through proper channel, signed by an officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police or Commandant.
  • Events: men's team, women's team, men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles and veterans, as per the AIPSCB circular.
  • Each team may include one team manager and one coach in addition to players.
  • Last date for entries: 15 December 2026. Late entries will not be accepted.

03. Schedule

8 January 2027

Arrival, registration and accreditation. Team managers' meeting and draw at 5:00 pm at the venue.

9 January 2027

Opening ceremony at 9:00 am, followed by team event matches.

10 January 2027

Team event knockouts and individual event rounds.

11 January 2027

Semi-finals and finals. Closing ceremony and prize distribution in the evening.

12 January 2027

Departure of teams after breakfast.

04. Reporting & Registration

Teams should report to the registration desk at their allotted hotel or at the venue on 8 January 2027 by 3:00 pm. The team manager completes registration for the whole team.

  • Accreditation cards are issued only after document verification of each player and official.
  • Any change in the team list must be submitted in writing before the team managers' meeting.
  • Teams arriving after the draw will be placed as per the decision of the Technical Committee.

05. Documents to Carry

  • Original departmental identity card of every player and official.
  • Authority letter from the sponsoring unit with names, ranks and belt or service numbers.
  • Eligibility certificate signed by the head of office, confirming service on the unit's rolls.
  • Medical fitness certificate for each player.
  • Aadhaar card or any government photo ID.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs per person for accreditation.

06. Rules of Play

  • Matches are played under BWF Laws of Badminton and AIPSCB rules in force.
  • BWF-approved feather shuttles will be provided by the organisers.
  • Players must report to the court call area 15 minutes before the scheduled match time. A player not reporting within 5 minutes of the call will be declared walkover.
  • Draws and seedings will be made at the team managers' meeting and are final.
  • Protests must be submitted in writing by the team manager within 30 minutes of the match, with the prescribed fee.

07. Kit & Uniform

  • Players wear their unit's playing kit, conforming to BWF clothing regulations.
  • Non-marking badminton shoes are mandatory on court.
  • Teams should carry their own racquets, grips and strings. A stringing service will be available at the venue at cost.
  • Unit tracksuits or ceremonial uniform for the opening and closing ceremonies.
  • Carry warm clothing for mornings and evenings.

08. Travel & Arrival

Share your travel plan (mode, date, time and train or flight number) with the Transport Committee at least 7 days before arrival. Pick-up is arranged from:

  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad (about 20 km from the venue).
  • Ahmedabad Junction (Kalupur) and Sabarmati railway stations.
  • Geeta Mandir central bus stand.

Reception counters with Gujarat Police staff will be set up at the airport and Ahmedabad Junction on 7 and 8 January 2027.

09. Accommodation & Meals

Stay is provided from 8 January to 12 January 2027 in hotels near the venue on twin-sharing basis. Breakfast and dinner are served at the hotel; lunch and refreshments are served at the venue on match days. See the Accommodation Page for hotels and check-in steps.

10. Weather & What to Pack

Ahmedabad in January is dry and pleasant during the day and cool at night. Typical temperatures range from about 12°C at night to 28°C in the afternoon.

  • Light jacket or sweater for early mornings and evenings.
  • Sunscreen and a water bottle for the day.
  • Personal medicines with prescriptions.

11. Medical & Emergency

  • A doctor, physiotherapist and ambulance will be on duty at the venue during all matches.
  • Shalby Hospital is located opposite the venue on S.G. Highway for emergencies.
  • Emergency numbers: Police 112 · Ambulance 108.
  • Players with pre-existing conditions should inform the Medical Committee at registration.

12. Code of Conduct

  • All participants are expected to maintain the discipline and dignity of the police service on and off the court.
  • Decisions of the referee and umpires are final during play.
  • Consumption of alcohol, tobacco and banned substances is strictly prohibited. Gujarat is a dry state.
  • Misconduct may lead to disqualification of the player or team and a report to the parent unit.
